Presentation
Since 1994 I have been working as a visual artist, with photography, video and performance as my main means of expression. In my works ideas about the body, associated to gender, power and identity, have been central themes. I have taken those interests with me to my present research in sociology. With an intersectional perspective I explore ideas about the body, as well as questions about inequalities and difference. Theoretically, I combine phenomenology, feministic theory and disability studies/crip theory with a sociological understanding of structures and institutional processes. With me from my work as a visual artist I also have a methodological search for new and alternative ways of collecting empirical data, with a special focus on visual methods and analysis.
