Presentation

I am senior lecturer (docent) in environmental science at the Department of Urban Studies. I also share program responsibility for the bachelor's program Environmental Studies: people, environment and society, and am the theme lead for Green and Just Cities at the Institute for Urban Research. I received my bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies and Urban and Regional Planning from Florida State University (2010), my master's from Lund University in Environmental Studies and Sustainability Science (2012) and my PhD in Sustainability Science from Lund University Centre for Sustainability Studies (2018). I conduct research at the intersection of sustainable development, spatial planning, natural resource management and collective action/social movements, as well as maintaining a keen interest in philosophy of science and methodology in inter/trans-disciplinary research. I am currently conducting research with farmer based rural social movements in SSA as part of a large comparative project in Ghana, Uganda and Zimbabwe. My teaching is highly interdisciplinary, including mainstream and ecological economics, social theory, physical geography, environmental sociology and ecology.
