The Foresight research programme at Malmö University focused on identifying patients at high risk of caries and periodontitis through predictive biomarkers and preventive strategies. By combining dentistry, epidemiology, and bioinformatics, it aimed to improve risk assessment and enable personalised dental care.

The programme’s findings, published in peer-reviewed studies, enhanced understanding of disease progression and early detection. Its results continue to influence clinical practice and resource allocation in preventive dentistry.
