The environment at the department is characterised by global perspectives and internationalisation. The main focus of our research is on global processes and their implications for power, security, justice and development. We provide courses and study programmes in both Swedish and English and our students come from all over the world.

The research environment at GPS

Global Political Studies is an interdisciplinary department with research on politics, power relations and the construction of identity in local, national, international and global contexts. We focus on organisations, governance, policy instruments and decision-making processes, and also studies of international migration and migration-related social issues.
